How to Transfer Your Railway Season Pass from UTS to RailOne App: Step-by-Step Guide

Indian Railways is gradually shifting passengers from the UTS mobile application to its newly launched platform, RailOne. While the UTS app continues to support journey ticket bookings, season pass booking and renewal services have been permanently discontinued on the app.

To simplify railway-related services, RailOne has been introduced as a single “super app” for passengers. Earlier, different railway services were spread across multiple applications. RailOne now brings many of these features together under one platform. Unlike UTS, which was limited to unreserved tickets and season passes, RailOne allows users to book both reserved and unreserved tickets, including suburban local train season passes, using a single login.

The RailOne app is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store and features a clean, easy-to-use interface. It is designed to enhance the passenger experience by reducing dependency on multiple railway apps.

For unreserved travel, RailOne supports ticket booking through the R-Wallet, offering users a 3 percent discount. The app also provides useful services such as live train tracking, grievance redressal, e-catering, porter booking, and last-mile taxi services, making it a comprehensive travel companion.

Reserved ticket bookings will continue to be handled through IRCTC. However, RailOne has been officially authorised by IRCTC, similar to other partner apps. The app supports single sign-on with mPIN or biometric authentication, and passengers can log in using their existing UTS or RailConnect credentials.

According to an earlier press release by the Ministry of Railways, RailOne aims to consolidate multiple railway services into one platform, helping users save storage space and manage their travel needs more efficiently.

At present, the UTS app still allows journey ticket bookings, but its role is gradually being reduced. Railway officials have clarified that existing season passes must be transferred to RailOne using the ‘Transfer Ticket’ option available within the UTS app. Any remaining UTS wallet balance is automatically transferred during this process.

How to Transfer Your Season Pass from UTS to RailOne

  1. Open the updated UTS app on your smartphone
  2. Tap on the ‘Transfer Ticket’ option
  3. Select your active season pass (monthly, quarterly, or annual)
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to link the pass with RailOne
  5. Log in or register on the RailOne app using your credentials
  6. Your UTS wallet balance will be transferred automatically

After completing the registration, users are required to set an M-PIN on RailOne for added security
